A New Chapter, Built From Everything That Came Before

Over the past few months, I’ve been thinking deeply about my work. Not necessarily about what I want to create next, but about what I have already created, why I created it and what sits underneath all of it.

For more than twenty years, my work has taken many forms. I’ve taught Reiki and meditation, worked with people individually, run workshops, written oracle and tarot decks, created guided meditations, taught intuitive development and spent countless hours exploring consciousness, spirituality, intuition and the strange and wonderful experience of being human.

For a long time, I thought the next stage of my work meant I needed to create something new. Another course, another offering, another idea. But increasingly, I’ve realised that I don’t need more. I need to go deeper.

And that realisation has become The Reimagined Oracle.

What Is The Reimagined Oracle?

Traditionally, the word oracle has described something or someone through which wisdom, guidance or prophecy is received. But I’ve become increasingly interested in reimagining what an oracle can be and how we can work with oracle and tarot cards in a different way.

I don’t believe wisdom exists only somewhere outside of us, waiting for the right person to access it. Nor do I believe an oracle card has one fixed meaning that somebody else needs to interpret for us. A card can be a doorway. An image can trigger a memory, a colour can create a feeling, a symbol can stir an association, and a word can suddenly change the way we understand something we have been living with for years.

The card isn’t necessarily giving us an answer. It may be showing us ourselves.

This has led me to a simple idea that now sits at the centre of The Reimagined Oracle:

Don’t ask the card for the answer. Notice who you become when you look at the card.

What do you notice or feel? What do you resist? What story immediately appears? What are you assuming? What changes when you look again?

For me, this is where working with oracle and tarot cards becomes fascinating.

Why Am I Changing Direction?

Perhaps the biggest change is that I no longer want my work to revolve around continually producing something new. I’ve already created an extensive body of work. My oracle and tarot decks contain hundreds of cards, images, symbols, concepts and teachings. Some have been travelling around the world for years and have been translated into different languages, and yet I feel as though I have barely scratched their surface.

So this next chapter isn’t about adding more noise. It’s about exploring what is already here.

I want to bring my decks to the forefront of my work and explore them in ways I haven’t before. Rather than simply asking, What does this card mean?, I want to explore what it reveals, what it provokes and what it reminds us of. Why are we drawn to one image and resistant to another? What happens when different cards are placed together? What happens when we stop asking the cards to predict the future and instead use them to better understand the person standing in the present?

And perhaps most importantly, what happens when we trust our own response?

Oracle Cards as Mirrors for Self-Discovery

This is one of the fundamental ideas behind The Reimagined Oracle. Rather than treating an oracle or tarot card as an authority that has the answer, we can also use the card as a mirror.

When you look at a card, something happens. You respond to its imagery, colour, symbolism, words and energy through the filter of your own experiences, beliefs, memories and ways of perceiving. Someone else may look at exactly the same card and notice something completely different.

That difference is interesting.

Instead of immediately asking which interpretation is correct, we can become curious about why we responded the way we did. The card becomes the beginning of a conversation rather than the end of one.

The Light, the Darkness and What We Create

One of the things I’ve recently recognised is that much of my existing work already forms a pathway.

The Secret Language of Light explores awakening, awareness and the greater possibilities of who we are. The Secret Language of Darkness takes us towards the parts of ourselves we may avoid, suppress or misunderstand. And The Secret Language of Manifestation asks what happens next. Once we become aware, and once we begin to understand what may be limiting us, what do we choose to create?

This has become the foundation of a simple four-part process within The Reimagined Oracle: Awaken • Heal • Create • Integrate.

Awaken asks, What am I becoming aware of? Heal asks, What is asking to be understood differently? Create asks, What am I ready to create? And Integrate asks, How can I bring this understanding into my everyday life?

These aren’t rigid stages. Human beings rarely move through life in neat little straight lines. We circle back, discover another layer, change our minds and contradict ourselves. We can look at the same situation five years later and see something completely differently. That isn’t failure. That’s consciousness moving.

I’ve created The Reimagined Oracle Foundational Spread as a practical way to explore this process with your own oracle or tarot cards. It takes you through Awaken, Heal, Create and Integrate while encouraging you to notice your own responses to the cards rather than looking to them simply for answers.

Everything Communicates

Another idea at the heart of The Reimagined Oracle is something I’ve believed for a very long time: everything communicates.

Our bodies and emotions communicate. Images and symbols communicate. Animals and nature communicate. Our relationships and reactions communicate. Even the things that irritate us can reveal something interesting about ourselves. We are constantly receiving information. The question is whether we notice it.

For me, intuition isn’t necessarily about possessing some mysterious ability available only to a chosen few. It can also be about becoming more perceptive, learning to notice patterns, listening to our inner senses alongside our physical senses and becoming curious about what arises within us before immediately dismissing it.

The more curious we become, the more we begin to notice.

Intuition, Curiosity and a Different Kind of Conversation

This is also why my work is moving away from the idea that I am here simply to give people answers. I’m far more interested in creating conversations.

I don’t need you to believe what I believe. In fact, I’d rather you didn’t simply adopt my beliefs. Question them. Explore them. Put them beside your own experience and see what happens.

There are subjects I have explored for decades, including consciousness, spirituality, intuition, energy, manifestation, psychology, symbolism, extraterrestrial and interdimensional consciousness, and the nature of reality itself. I don’t approach these subjects because I think I have reached the final answer. Quite the opposite. I’m interested because there is always another perspective.

A new perspective can change the meaning we give something, and when meaning changes, our experience can change too.

So, What Is The Reimagined Oracle Really About?

The Reimagined Oracle is not really a reinvention. It is a gathering together.

It brings together my cards, writing, meditations, teaching, experiences, questions and curiosity, along with more than thirty years of exploring consciousness and trying to understand what it means to be human.

The Reimagined Oracle will continue through my website, writing, oracle and tarot decks, meditations, workshops and conversations, both online and eventually in physical spaces where we can meet, explore the cards and talk about these ideas together.

I want it to be a place where curiosity is more important than certainty, where cards aren’t authorities, intuition isn’t something you have to prove, darkness isn’t something to fear and spirituality doesn’t require us to stop thinking. A place where discovering another perspective can sometimes reveal an entirely different world.

Because ultimately, the purpose behind my work is quite simple:

To create the conditions for people to discover that they are far more capable, perceptive and connected than they imagine.

Perhaps The Reimagined Oracle isn’t really about becoming something new at all.

Perhaps it’s about looking again at what has been there all along and seeing it differently.
