Meditation is more than you think. As you gravitate towards meditation, you may initially seek it for stress relief, inner peace, or to navigate life’s challenges. However, over time you’ll discover that meditation is a profound tool for personal growth and self-discovery. It’s a journey that can lead you to a deeper understanding of your true self. Meditation is the practice of quieting the mind. This task can be challenging as our egos often dominate our waking consciousness. This ego, the part of us that resists stillness, may manifest as distractions, restlessness, or even a sense of wasted time. It clings to control, reluctant to release its grip. But why is it so hard to let go? Because this is the familiar path, the one that promises safety by making sense of our surroundings. Yet, meditation offers a different perspective. It invites us to feel each moment and decide what serves us best. It’s a shift from focusing on what we don’t want, to embrace what feels good guided by our intuition and instincts.

Three Steps of the Soul of Meditation

Step 1: Awaken

Initially, meditation may feel uncomfortable and not align with your ego’s preferences. It might even seem tedious or frustrating, as the mind is accustomed to being active and in control. You might question the purpose, thinking, ‘Why am I here? This is a waste of time.’ But give it a chance. Daily meditation for a week can bring about noticeable changes. Remember, you don’t have to be ‘good’ at it. It’s simply about sitting, embracing silence, and surrendering. It’s easier than your ego might lead you to believe.

Step 2: Surrender

Allow yourself to let go. One of the paradoxes of the inner journey is losing ourselves to find ourselves. You can never really transcend if you are rigid, stuck, tied into beliefs and identity, rules, and obligations. You have to find a way to pull away from your beliefs and intellect and just your inner wisdom. You can’t go beyond limitations while you are focused on them.

Step 3: Design

Feeling like a spiritual, vibrational being. You may know this in your mind, but do you feel it? You will know when you feel it – you just know, and no one can talk you out of it. It will resonate deep within, creating a greater awareness than the intellectual mind. You sense the eternalness of your Soul. This is an inward revolution, a spiritual journey, not one where you think you are spiritual.

Ultimately, there is a beautiful prize – you become a consolidated, serene person who accepts themselves and others with love. The extraordinary beauty of this journey is that perfection is not what you seek. What you seek is a reconciliation with yourself. So, when you look in the mirror, you may not like what you see now. Still, you can say to yourself, “I am okay.” This is reconciliation, and this is the process of fully embracing yourself. You are on your way to your dreams and desires; you just have to find a way to have fun while you are on your way. Relax, meditate, let go and feel your dreams and desires – be them, and you will see them. All is well.

In love and growth, Denise
